We are pleased to announce that Waste Management of Alameda County has reached a 5-year agreement with International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 70. The agreement was ratified by the 481 drivers and operators on Saturday, and our employees will return to work on Monday, July 30.
We want to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during this labor action and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
In the coming weeks we plan to meet internally and with the cities and jurisdictions served by Waste Management of Alameda County to discuss credits and refunds for those customers who did not receive service.
Lastly, we want to thank Mayor Ron Dellums for his guidance and commitment to getting an agreement that is fair and balanced for our employees, their families, our communities and the company.
